For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. a time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.
What do people really get for all their hard work? I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are the gifts from God.
And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose is that people should fear him. What is happening now has happened before, and what will happen in the future has happened before, because God makes the same things happen over and over again.
This verse has seriously been speaking to me lately.
“God’s sacred intent for you and me is nothing short of absolute abandonment to Jesus, entire separation from the pollution of the world, and ardent worship of our King with every breath we take.”—Leslie Ludy
“You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”—Marianne Williamson
i need more time, every day. 24 hours really doesn’t cut it.
and i want want want want want more than anything a real man of God in my life. i know you’re out there praying for me as often and as passionately as i pray for you, but now i pray for your speedy arrival. in the meantime, i pray for friendships that strengthen my relationship with the Lord, ones that will last into the time you get here, ones that will support our journey together and be there every step of the way.
I wanna be a woman of God that sees Jesus in everything. The kind that can look at the smallest thing and proclaim its enormous beauty. The kind that loves Christ with her entire being, investing every minute in expanding His kingdom. The kind that greets people with the warmest of smiles and brightest of eyes, filled with wonder and a passion for life that exceeds what’s necessary to get through the day. The kind that can have meaningful conversations with total strangers and wind up calling them her greatest friends. The kind who carries herself humbly, and reaches to those in need. The kind that knows she was beautifully crafted to fulfill a unique purpose in this world, and recognizes that purpose. The kind who will only pursue a man desperately chasing after the thing she most wants…not her earthly desires, but God’s own heart.
